STEMLockwood Primary School has been committed to science in our school for several years. In 2018, we ramped up that commitment with the introduction of STEM as a specialist learning area.

“STEM is a wonderful approach - it integrates the Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts and Maths curriculum, using problem-based tasks. The students are so engaged - they often ask to  continue working on their tasks through lunchtime. It’s also great to hear the conversation and rich, problem-solving language they use.”

In 2019, we completed a Capital Works Grant from the State Government to create a dedicated STEAM centre that will includes a range of hands-on learning areas and technology, sited within a 21st century learning space.
