The 2018 school year begins for all students, including Preps, on Wednesday 30th January. The school year will begin with an assembly at 9.00am in the Suncourt. Lockwood Primary School’s new Principal, Ms. Carmen Huszar, will lead the start-of-year assembly and parents are welcome to attend.If you need to call the school prior to official commencement, Fiona Adams will be in the office every day from Monday 21st January, 9.00am - 2.00pm.

A reminder that student supervision begins on weekdays from 8.30am. Students arriving earlier than this will need to be booked into our Before School Care facility. Please ensure students arrive by 8.45am each day; this gives them time to unpack their bags and change readers, so they feel organised and ready for the day. Our regular school day runs from 9.00am – 3.30pm with lunch at 11.00am and recess at 2.00pm each day.

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is available 7.00-8.30am and 3.30-6.00pm, Monday to Friday. Book at the school office.   Enrolment forms for OSHC must be completed prior to your student attending OSHC.
Coordinator: Nerillie Dunn Qualified Staff: Wendy and Caitlin

Some important forms will be sent home in the first week of school, so please keep an eye out for them:

  • Permission form for Bendigo Health staff to undertake Free Oral Health Screenings for all students in February;
  • Term One Classroom Timetable – please check which days your child/ren has specialist classes so they know when to bring their Art Smock and Library Bag;
  • Updated enrolment/contact information and permission forms.
  • Gymnastics Program Permission / Medical form

Our new Prep students will be supported by their Grade Five buddies who will have made contact during the vacation. During February, Preps are not required to attend school on Wednesdays to support transition and literacy and numeracy testing. We welcome new pupils in Grades 1-6 and can assure you that our current students will do all they can to make our new students feel welcome and safe. A feature of our school is that our students are always kind, caring and consider other people’s feelings.

Carmen and the staff look forward to welcoming you back to school for an exciting year of learning!
